▲ Monthly Chungnam April (Pamphlet) Final Version
Chungnam Province is operating "Monthly Chungnam," a program that introduces local attractions by selecting a new tourism theme each month, in celebration of the "2025–2026 Chungnam Visit Year."
For April, under the theme "Old Tales Carried by the Wind," we recommend spring picnic spots where you can enjoy the warm spring weather and feel the essence of history and cultural heritage.
◇Spring Breeze Embracing Cultural Heritage, Places Filled with the Scent of History
Seosan, where the 'Haemi Cherry Blossom Festival' (April 5th / Haemi Stream area) is held in April, is considered a top spring picnic spot due to its fully bloomed cherry blossoms and Haemieupseong Fortress, which preserves Joseon Dynasty history and culture.
Additionally, Gaeamsa Temple, famous for its green double cherry blossoms, and the Seosan Yonghyeon-ri Rock-Carved Buddha Triad, which holds the smile of Baekje, are also great places to explore. We also recommend experiencing the exotic atmosphere created by the vast plains of Seosan Hanu Ranch Road (Well-being Walking Trail) blended with cherry blossom scenery.
Notably, these five recommended locations are part of Seosan's 9 Scenic Views. By validating your visit through the 'Seosan Tourism Stamp Tour' operated by Seosan City, you can receive souvenirs, making for special memories.
Various spring events are also taking place in Dangjin.
At Myeoncheon Eupseong Fortress, previously selected as a 2025 Small but Strong Potential Tourist Destination, the 'Myeoncheon's Spring, Again Spring Myeoncheon' event (April 5th–6th), offering cultural and artistic experiences, will be held. Also, the 'Gijisi (Tug-of-War) Festival' (April 10th–13th / Gijisi Museum) will take place this year, marking the 10th anniversary of its UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage designation, adding to its significance.
At Sapgyoho Lake, the 'Sapgyoho Drone Light Show' will be regularly operated every Saturday from April 19th to June 14th, and again from September 6th to November 1st, providing night-time attractions at the Sapgyoho Tourist Complex.
Other worthwhile attractions to visit in Dangjin include Myeoncheon Retro Street, Ami Art Museum, Gijisi (Tug-of-War) Museum, Bugnae Pilgrimage Trail, and Sapgyoho Tourist Complex, a popular spot for life-like photos.
In Buyeo, the 'Buyeo National Heritage Night Event' (April 4th–6th / Jeongnimsa Temple Site area) offers a special experience of walking through history, with cherry blossoms and moonlight harmonizing at Jeongnimsa Temple Site.
Using the Buyeo amphibious bus, you can explore key Buyeo tourist destinations such as Nakhwaam Rock, Goransa Temple, Baekje Cultural Complex, Gungnamji Pond, and Busosanseong Fortress all at once. The Baekje Cultural Complex will also have night openings every Friday and Saturday from April to November.
◇ The Wind of Patriotism*, Where You Can Trace the Path of Heroes
*A mind that eagerly awaits
In April, two festivals will be held to commemorate patriotic heroes.
First, in Asan, the 'Seongung Yi Sun-sin Festival' (April 25th–27th / Onyang Oncheon Station and Hyeonchungsa Shrine areas) will be held to honor Admiral Yi Sun-sin's patriotic spirit.
△Various participatory programs will be available, including the 'Admiral Yi Sun-sin Rowing Competition,' a marathon, and a military examination procession.
Along with Onyang Oncheon Station area and Hyeonchungsa Shrine, which are festival venues, you can encounter a variety of spring flowers by visiting Sinjeongho Local Garden, which opens in April, and Pinnacle Land, where a spring flower festival is held.
In Yesan, the 'Yun Bong-gil Peace Festival' (April 26th–27th / Chunguisa Shrine area, Yesan-gun) will be held to share the values of peace championed by Yun Bong-gil.
Various experience and performance programs will be offered, including △poetry recitation, △drawing contests, △making canteen tumblers, △bubble circus, and △tightrope walking. There will also be spaces for families to relax comfortably.
Nearby, Duksan Metasequoia Road, Naepo Bobusang Village, and Yedangho Suspension Bridge and Monorail are great places to visit together.
